We guarantee that the plants you purchased are healthy and free from disease when you receive them and that they are the size and variety that you paid for. Our nursery/greenhouses are inspected annually by the Nebraska Department of Plant Industry inspectors to eliminate any health problems. Please notify us within 30 days if there is a problem with your trees or plants. We accept no responsibility beyond this time limit. We do not warranty plants once they leave our greenhouse, due to circumstances beyond our control (drought, insect or wildlife damage, improper care, herbicide damage, weather extremes, etc.) Please remember that you have purchased live plants and that they take proper care to survive.
In order to ensure that the plants you purchased will perform their best, please follow these guidelines:
Plant the plants as soon as possible. If you cannot get to them immediately, place them in the shade and water them at least every other day.
Plant the shrubs & trees to the depth that they are in the pot or ball, or slightly shallower. The plant root crown should be level or no more than 1/2 inch below the soil surface.
For the best outcomes and plant health, use root stimulator when planting.
Trees need a great deal of water the first 1-2 years after they are planted. Water them thoroughly whenever the ground around them becomes dry and starts to crack. Different soil types will drain at different rates. If your soil is sandy, it will take more frequent watering than if you have clay soil. Trees can also suffer if they are watered too much. Make sure you only water when the soil starts to become dry. Continue to water in this manner until the ground freezes in the winter. If there is a prolonged thaw, water again during the winter to prevent winter kill. Follow the same watering regimen the second year to ensure your trees perform their best.
Wildlife can also damage trees. Inspect your trees often and if you notice damage from deer or rabbits, it may be necessary to fence in the trees until they are large enough that the wildlife does not bother them. Inspect your trees for insect damage as well. Your local garden center should be able to identify the insect and provide a treatment for the problem.
Do not use any chemicals that contain 2,4 D or Tordon near your trees or where water will run towards your trees. This includes most lawn weed products. If you have any question about the safety of the product you wish to use, please call your local garden center or tree care professional.
We hope you enjoy your new plants. We want you to enjoy them for many years to come.
